Updating the Wii Shop

This guide will tell you how to update your shopping channel without having to install the newest System menu version.
Note: It is even easier to use Dop-SHOP or WiiSCU, which will do all work for you!

* NUS Downloader

1. First of all, be sure you have the latest NUS database. You can download the newest one with the program itself under Database > Update Database. (It's also in the download section)

2. Now download the following with NUS Downloader (don't forget to enable pack->wad first!):
* NUS (System > Shopping Channel > All/System > v19 &WAD)
Two new folders will appear in the NUSD directory:
* 0001000248414241v19
Copy the Wad from both folders to the Wad folder on the SD Card.

3. Download Wad Manager (or YAWMM) from the Wad Manager page, and set it up correctly (see the wad manager page).


4. Use Wad Manager to install the 2 wads you downloaded above (note: if wad manager asks you to choose an IOS, use IOS36 or 249)

The WAD Manager (un)installs packages called WADs. Things such as Wii Ware games, VC games, Wii channels, hidden channels and other updates come in these WAD packages. On November 15, 2012, Google released the YouTube 'app' on the Wii Shop Channel. Give it a few seconds because Powershell have to startup. After few seconds a new windows should open. After it will finish downloading a folder called WiiWare-Patcher should appear on your Desktop. Open it and open file called patcher.bat (Main menu of WiiWare Patcher).
