The Bonair 850 was originally imported in 1981 by NR Components at Todmorden, they are better known for manufacturing caravan awnings. This hardtop camper was made in Canada and when it was imported had to undergo extensive coversions to make it comply to UK trailer regulations. Without trying to undermine NR some of these conversions were not to the highest of standards and my advice to you is to stay well clear of this potential disaster on wheels.
However it may be of interest to anyone who is interested in a hardtop camper to know that Pennine imported a Coachmen American Camper 3/4 years ago with the intention of building them under licence here in the UK to replace the Conway Cardinal but due to the cost and the unfavourable exchange rates the plan was scrapped. This camper was fully converted to meet UK road traffic regulations, complete with an AL-KO chassis and running gear, and has been in storage ever since.
